Understand your coins
How to read a coin at a glance, and what each one is telling you.
Every circle on the Budget screen is a coin, and every coin is one category. The number in the middle is what you can still spend there today and stay on track for the rest of the month, so a coin is less a balance than a sense of pace.
The ring around it tells you how that pace is going. In your theme's main color, with the word today underneath, you're comfortably inside your allowance. A warm amber ring and the word over means you've gone past what today allowed. That isn't a failure, just a nudge: you got ahead of yourself, and easing off for a few days brings it back.
If you spend past the category's whole budget for the month, the ring turns red and the number goes negative to show by how much. There's no word underneath at that point, because the number is saying it.
Tap a coin to turn it over. The front shows what you can spend today; the back shows the word left, which is everything still unspent in that category this month. Tap again to turn it back. A coin that's over budget won't flip, and you'll get a small shrug instead.
Press and hold a coin to open its own screen, where you can see every transaction in that category and change what it's budgeted.
Goal coins work differently. They sit among your year coins and hold money you've already saved rather than money you're pacing, so they carry no today or over, and they don't flip. What you see is simply what's there.
