One card per day, newest first, with earlier months folded below.
The Journal is where Carlo opens, and it is built out of days. Each card is one day, newest at the top, and a day only gets a card if something actually happened on it, so there are no empty days to scroll past.
A card leads with that day's photos, then the date, then what you spent. A day with no pictures shows a row of its subcategory emoji in the photo's place instead, so the day still reads at a glance rather than looking blank. If you wrote something, its opening lines preview underneath.
Tap anywhere on a card to open that day in full: every transaction, all its photos, and everything you wrote.
Tap a photo to flip through that day's pictures, or press and hold one to open it full screen, where you can pinch to zoom, save, or share. If a day has more pictures than the collage can show, a small +N on the last tile counts what is left.
Earlier months are tidied into rows below your recent days. Tap a month to expand it and tap again to collapse, and older years group the same way, a year at a time and then a month.
Your weekly reviews and monthly closeouts sit in the feed as their own cards, in date order alongside the days they cover. Tap one to read it.
Scroll down a way and a small jump-to-top button appears; pressing and holding the Journal glyph in the tray does the same thing.
Open a day and each transaction carries small dimmed markers: a note icon when there is a private note, a receipt icon when a receipt is attached, and a briefcase for a business expense. Receipts stay out of a day's cover collage so your memory photos lead, and you will find them with the day's other pictures.
