Auto-pay vs manual bills
The difference between a bill that charges itself and one you pay by hand, and how to tell them apart.
Every bill is one of two kinds, and the peek shows you which at a glance. A circle means auto-pay: the charge goes through on its own, so Carlo fills the circle in when the due date arrives and there is nothing for you to tap. A square means you pay it yourself, and you tap it once you have.
The shapes carry the meaning rather than the colors alone, so the two are never ambiguous.
Tapping a manual square does real work: it records the payment as an expense, which is how a bill you pay by hand ends up in your spending. Unmarking it removes that expense again.
To change which kind a bill is, open Bills, tap the bill, and find the Auto-pay switch below the form. Turn it on for anything charged automatically, a card or a bank draft; turn it off for anything you send yourself, a check or a transfer. Any payment still open switches shape right away, this month included, while anything already marked paid stays as it was.
Auto-pay is only a note to Carlo about what to expect. It has no connection to your bank and cannot make a payment, so what it really changes is whether Carlo waits on you to confirm one.
