Edit a category
Everything about a category lives on its own screen: its history, its patterns, and its settings.
On the Budget screen, press and hold the coin you want. A plain tap flips it instead. The screen that opens has three tabs.
Entries is where it starts: an allowance bar showing spend against budget, then every transaction in the category, newest first. Tap any row to open it. Analytics breaks the same spending down by subcategory or by payee, whichever you switch it to.
Edit holds the settings. Change the budget amount, the name, the emoji or the color, then tap Save. If you changed the amount, Carlo shows you the revised income split before committing so you can see what it does to everything else; if you only renamed it, it saves in one step.
Also on that tab is Mark as giving, which makes everything in this category count toward your giving percentage in Analytics.
Further down, SUBCATEGORIES shows each one as a small coin. Tap a coin to rename, recolor or archive it, and tap the dashed Add tile to make a new one. Subcategories do not carry their own budgets, they divide the category's spending rather than splitting its limit. Archived ones stay tucked behind a toggle rather than cluttering the list.
At the very bottom is Archive Category, which retires the whole coin. One thing to know: renaming a category renames it everywhere, in past months as well as future ones, because there is only one category and every transaction points at it. And on a past month the budget amount is read-only, though everything else stays editable.
